Know About PMS and PMDD

Women of 20-35 usually face this situation from one menstrual cycle to the next. PMS means Pre-Menstrual Syndrome. Women says that they suffer this syndrome prior one or two week of their period. This includes mood swings, headaches, bloating, anxiety, fatigue and irritation etc. PMDD is also similar to PMS which refers to Pre-Menstrual Dysphoric Disorder. Both of its syndromes start 5-6 days beforehand of period and disappear during period.

Perinatal Depression

Certainly, motherhood is a blessing for every woman. Along with bliss, this brings many complexity and responsibility also. In the middle of these mess, pregnant women often feel morning sickness, fatigue, mood swings etc. Due to significant physical and hormonal changes, it affects on women’s mind. We’ve to remember that depression is more than low mood situation and it puts negative impact on baby’s development also.

Perinatal depression indicates the depression which happens during pregnancy and also after the baby is born named as postpartum depression. We will discuss it below.

Postpartum Depression

This case is included in perinatal depression which is mentioned right before. Post partum depression usually occurs after the baby is born. after the baby is born, new mother sometimes deal with unhappiness or sadness without any particular reason. This mild sadness is termed as ‘baby blue’. But perinatal depression is much serious than baby blue. This mood disorder lasts for one or two week. Then it disappears as soon as new mom adjusts herself with the newborn.

Perimenopausal Depression
